In-depth Introduction of Tools for Hydrologic and Hydraulic Decision Support: Day 2

Wednesday 16 February 2022, 9 am - 12 noon ICT

This training event, from 15-17 February 2022, is part of an ongoing collaboration project for ‘Improved Hydrologic and Hydraulic Decision Support for the Mekong Basin,’ supported by the US, Republic of Korea and Lower Mekong countries.

On day 2 of the training, Cameron Ackerman and Dr Stanford Gibson of the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) will show participants how to use the HEC-River Analysis System software. Participants will have the opportunity to practice their skills in a hands-on workshop.

Cameron Ackerman is a senior hydraulic engineer with the USACE Hydrologic Engineering Center (HEC). Stanford Gibson is a research hydraulic engineer at HEC.

This is the second in a series of six training events organized by the Sustainable Infrastructure Partnership with technical cooperation from the Mekong River Commission, the US Army Corps of Engineers, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

The training is for government officials in Cambodia, Lao PDR, Thailand and Viet Nam, and officials at the Mekong River Commission secretariat. This course is for intermediate to advanced-level practitioners, who have substantial experience in hydrologic and hydraulic models, satellite-based data, and related data visualization tools.

Participation is by invitation.
