This meeting of senior officials launches the first in a series of training events supported by the Republic of Korea (ROK) and the US to strengthen the capacity of Mekong water resource professionals in utilizing water data for modeling and forecasting activities.
The US and ROK are collaborating under the Mekong-US Partnership and its Mekong Water Data Initiative to provide technical training to the Mekong River Commission (MRC), National Mekong Committees and line agencies in the Lower Mekong countries.
This launch meeting takes place ahead of a three-day online training event from 21-23 July, and brings together senior officials from the MRC Secretariat, Mekong countries, partner agencies in Republic of Korea and the US, and Pact. The training is organized to support the MRC’s plan to reinvigorate its data, information, modeling, forecasting, and communication systems.
